The company scaled to $5 billion in loan originations, 1 million users, and 1000s of enterprises nationwide before all assets were sold in 2022.

Ever the believer in business as a force for good, David created CommonBond as a for-profit “social enterprise” – it was the first finance company with a "1-for-1" social mission. For every loan CommonBond funded, the company also funded the education of a child in need, in partnership with Pencils of Promise. It’s what led Harvard Business School to call CommonBond the “Warby Parker of (finance).”

In 2020, CommonBond made the Inc 5000 list, which highlights the fastest growing private companies in the U.S. And in 2018, CommonBond was selected by Fast Company as one of the world’s 50 Most Innovative Companies.
